Right under my nose…

Yellow Nutsedge-Cyperus esculentus-also known as flatsedge, northern nut grass, earth almond to name a few-all these names indicate it is wide spread. The stems are triangular in their cross section and the flowers are yellowish-brown while the leaves are grass like. The weed is a perennial in N.A. and has developed into a serious weed in cash crops. The plant can produce 90,000 seeds and one tuber can produce 1900 plants, which is one of the methods it reproduces,The pic you see is a yellow nutsedge growing in my wife’s flower pots!Sounds like more yellow nutsedge is on the way!

I might add it does look nice in the flower arrangement.
