More on the way…

The pic below is the winter annual dead nettle-Lamium purpurecum.A winter annual germinates in the fall and winter-grows during  any warm up.Otherwise it is dormant til spring when it begins to grow then dies off before hot weather.Purple dead nettle has square stems with hairy leaves with-you guessed it-purple flowers. It rarely gets over 12″-.3m-tall.While it is found in ag fields,it is not the problem weed that plagues  farmers. The weed is found in the usual places-disturbed areas, roadsides,my yard.Just like me-it is waiting for warm weather.
